TWITTER TO TEST “SUPER FOLLOW” FEATURE

Published

on

Twitter is about to roll out numerous new features, one of which is a subscription-based “super follow” programme. Followers can subscribe to an user’s exclusive content, allowing the user to earn revenue off of it.

It’s rumoured the Super Follow account will charge $4.99 a month and the content could include “bonus tweets, access to a community group, subscription to a newsletter, or a badge to indicate your support”.

In the Social platform’s first step away from a free service, Twitter have also said they are exploring the possibility of a tip service too. Another feature is “Communities” which will be similar to Facebook Groups which will permit users to create and be members of a group surrounding a specific interest.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet when these updates will take place, but would you willing to pay to follow a user?
