CELEBRATING ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARY XBOX HAS CREATED A VIRTUAL MUSEUM SHOWCASING THE HISTORY OF THE CONSOLES

Published

on

Microsoft has introduced an all-new virtual museum showcasing the history of the consoles as well as individual gamers’ personal experiences with the gaming company’s various titles as part of Xbox’s continuing 20th-anniversary celebration.

Xbox/Microsoft

Users will be able to explore the digital museum, where they can observe other Xbox gamers engaging with many virtual exhibits that chart the advancements of the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the current Xbox Series X / S consoles. At each touchstone, the firm has added a video that relates to the specific milestone.

While the museum largely celebrates the company’s numerous accomplishments, there are also displays dedicated to Xbox’s iconic blunders, such as the Xbox 360’s red ring of death and Microsoft’s failed effort to purchase Nintendo in 2000.

In the museum’s personal wing, gamers may look back at the games they first played on the system, the total amount of games they’ve played, and when they first joined up for Xbox Live.

The museum houses 132 key events throughout Xbox’s history, each with its own link to further information and specialised media. Users can also post the URL to their own personal display on additional platforms outside of the museum.

THE ‘META HOUSE’ TAKEOVER: TO HOST MIXED REALITY EXPERIENCES

In an effort to advance a more equitable and diverse metaverse, Meta is also participating in the events at Miami Art Week by launching a collaborative project for creators by taking over Miami’s Soho House.

Meta House was unveiled at Miami Art Week, and the activation will feature mixed reality performances by up-and-coming artists and popular artists like Doja Cat.

In our fifth part of Meta’s Metaverse Culture Series, they have brought together COVL and other up-and-coming artists and activists to celebrate both traditional and avant-garde forms of art, much like Miami Art Week does. They address how the Latinx community may improve and preserve its distinct culture in new ways while also making progress toward equity. Additionally, COVL collaborated with Meta’s Spark AR team to give the artwork, which can be viewed on Facebook and Instagram through the camera, a layer of interactivity. The use of AR and VR as artistic media by COVL was a first.

In these changing digital realms, artists are finding new ways to express themselves. Meta is trying to highlight these artists and the opportunities they may present in the future. In order for its metaverse to succeed, creators will have to help develop more captivating, unique, and original experiences. Meta can’t accomplish this on its alone. So for example we see projects on Instagram such as new exhibitions with its augmented reality components too.

LENSA AI APP TAKES OVER SOCIAL MEDIA

Published

By

You may have seen your social media flooded with colorful AI self-portraits over the past week. The viral app ‘Lensa AI’ has been the catalyst behind the influx. Developed by Prisma AI, Lensa turns selfies into what it calls “magic avatars” but has sparked renewed attention recently along with some controversy.

How it works?

Users choose their gender by uploading 10 to 20 images and marking them as “male,” “female,” or “other”, making it inclusive for non-binary people. The program generates the images in 15 to 20 minutes after you choose how many photos you want and pay for them. Avatars can be saved and shared after they are finished.

What’s Stable Diffusion?

The tech behind Lensa AI uses a tool called ‘Stable Diffusion’, an open-source artificial intelligence system that can produce images from text cues, to make its renderings appear hand-crafted rather than computer-generated. There have been rumours that in order to generate these images, other artists’ work have been taken and used which has caused recent controversy.

Privacy concerns?

Of course, like with any artificial intelligence tools, there have been privacy concerns surrounding the app too. While Lensa have stated that they don’t use the photos users provide, the app’s privacy statement only requests authorisation to utilise user content instead of taking full ownership. Images are immediately wiped from servers after generating the portraits.

Want to try Lensa for yourself?

Every year, Lensa costs £36.99. (a one-week free trial is available). Depending on how many photographs you desire, access to the “magic avatars” function costs an additional $4 to $16.

THE RISE OF CHATGPT: THE NEW AI CHATBOT EVERYONE IS TALKING TO

Published

Following this week’s popularity of Lensa AI, the new chatbot, ‘Chat GPT’ is also making waves in the artificial intelligence sector as reached one million users in less than a week since launching.

The growth of Chat GPT, or Generative Pretrained Transformer 3, has been nothing short of remarkable. Developed by OpenAI, GPT-3 is a large-scale language processing model that has been used to create a variety of applications, including chatbots.

One of the most impressive things about GPT-3 is its sheer size. With 175 billion parameters, it is one of the largest language processing models ever created, and it has been trained on a massive amount of data, allowing it to process and understand natural language with unprecedented accuracy and fluency. In fact, many experts believe that GPT-3 marks a major milestone in the development of artificial intelligence, and that it has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with computers and machines.

But GPT-3 is not without its limitations. While it has shown impressive performance in a variety of language processing tasks, it is not a replacement for human intelligence, and it should not be relied upon to make important decisions or provide definitive answers to complex questions.

Overall, the development of chat GPT is interesting and has the potential to significantly improve our capacity for machine and computer communication. However, it’s crucial to keep in mind that GPT-3 is still only a tool, and as such, it should be used with care and the right level of caution.

To use ChatGPT, simply register for an OpenAI account. A chatbot quickly creates answers once you enter a question into the interface.
