The fifth instalment of Palace’s Winter 2021 collection has a lot to offer.
Showcased earlier this month with a lookbook shot by photographer Larissa Hofmann, week 5 of the London label’s seasonal offering sees the launch of its much-anticipated balaclava puffer — dubbed the Pertex Jacket — in a quartet of hues including brown, green, black and red.
Palace’s pocket-heavy winter shirt also makes its debut in both beige and green, alongside a trio of rugby shirts and the brand’s expected array of graphic-adorned hoodies. Lightning T-shirts and Flight Pocket tracksuits round out this week’s offering, alongside a selection of caps and beanies.
Drop 5 of Palace’s Winter 2021 collection will release on November 12 in the U.K. and U.S. via the brand’s online webstore and in-store.

THESE NIKE AIR JORDANS ARE SET TO BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE AUCTIONED SNEAKERS OF ALL TIME

Sotheby’s said the sneakers are the earliest-known shoes worn by Michael Jordan during a regular season.
Sotheby’s has opened bidding on what will be the most expensive sneaker ever sold at auction: a pair of Nike Air Ships worn by Michael Jordan. Current bidding is at 1.1 million US dollars, with estimates of a sale to reach 1.5 million US dollars.

The British auction house says the sneakers are accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from its owner, Mr. Tommie Tim III Lewis, who was gifted the shoes by Michael Jordan. A Letter of Opinion in regards to Game Use from MEARS Authentication, LLC confirms the authenticity.
The Nike Air Ship is an important part of sneaker history and design legacy of the original Air Jordan. In 1984, Nike gave Michael Jordan his own signature line of shoes and clothes, which was pivotal in Michael agreeing to sign with Nike. It was the first time the brand ventured into a collaboration with an athlete on this scale, paving the way for many of the player collaborations we see today.

The current record for a pair of sneakers sold at auction is 615,000 US dollars, auctioned off by Christie’s in August 2020, also worn by Jordan in the friendly match of 25 August 1985 in Trieste, as part of a Nike promotional tour. In May 2020, following the success of the successful docu-series “The Last Dance”, Sotheby’s managed to sell a pair of autographed Air Jordan 1s for a record 560,000 dollars. After the documentary aired, sales of nearly all products associated with the six-time NBA champion hit record highs.
In October 1984 America’s National Basketball Association (NBA) wrote a letter to inform Nike that Jordan’s colourful shoes were a violation of the league’s uniformity of uniform clause. Nike responded by creating an infamous ad campaign around Jordan’s ‘banned’ shoes (advertising the first Air Jordans) remarking that while “the NBA threw them out of the game, fortunately, the NBA can’t stop you from wearing them.”

A RAMEN AND SNEAKER COLLAB LIKE NO OTHER

Feast your eyes on this mouth-watering drop.
Le Coq Sportif teamd up withramen restaurant chain in Japan Tenkaippin or as fans call it, Ten’ichi, has over 230 locations across the country. In addition, Ten’ichi is also in Hawaii but now Ten’ichi will also have a collab sneakers.

The sneakers commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original Ten’ichi, which was founded by Tsutomu Kimura, as a ramen stall near the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto in 1971. The initial bricks-and-mortar Ten’ichi restaurant was opened by Kimura in August 1975, and then in 1981 the ramen restaurant chain was established, becoming one of Japan’s staple ramen noodle chains.

These sneakers, Le Coq Sportif’s LCS R model, were designed with the restaurant’s ramen in mind. For example, the beige color echoes Ten’ichi’s famous, thick soup broth. The green represents green onions, while the laces are supposed to look like ramen noodles, and the red accents represent ramen bowls.
What’s more, Le Coq Sportif’s logo is a rooster, and on the back heel tab it’s depicted a chicken skeleton, making a further nod to ramen chicken bone broth. The shoes also come in a special box.
Priced around at £93.39, the sneakers will go on sale November 10.
