AMAZON’S FIRST SUPERMARKET IS OPENING IN LONDON

Published

on

If you’re based in West London you’ll be happy to hear that Amazon’s first contactless supermarket is coming near you. All you’ll need is a smartphone and the Amazon Go app to enter the shop in Ealing.

Purchases will be tracked by automated contactless methods, with hidden sensors and cameras keeping tabs on what you fill your shopping bag with and a payment being made via the Amazon Go app. Jeff Bezos is so proud of this Just Walk Out tech he believes eventually it’ll be the tech that all supermarkets use!

Amazon Go traditionally sells food such as pre-packed sandwiches, snacks and pantry items. However, they have had a relationship with Morrisons for many years with consumers being able to shop on Morrisons on Amazon Prime. The new store is opening opposite the supermarket giant as well, so perhaps the two companies will partner and Amazon Go will supply fresh produce too.

This is the first store outside of the 25 located in the USA and rumour has it Amazon have huge plans to roll the shops across the UK. Although, all we know is that the store opens this week in Ealing.

DOMINOS DRIVERLESS DELIVERY

Published

By

It’s a Sunday, you’re hungover and the last thing you want to do is interact with the delivery guy. Don’t worry your sore head as dominos have all your problems solved with this driverless delivery.

The pizza company have teamed up with Ford to trial out autonomous cars which will see you track the progress of your large half-and-half pizza order, and when your hangover cure approaches you’ll be texted a unique code that will unlock the “heatwave” compartment of the car that keeps your pizza warm. Not even kidding.

Sadly, your Two-For-Tuesday’s deal wont be driving around your town anytime soon as this is only being trailed out on Dominos hometown of Michigan, USA. However, if this is successful (how can it not be) it might be widened out across the USA and then the UK. Classic, the US of A getting everything better before us.

P.s how much is that cover photo making you drooool and wanting to make an order? Do it.

INSTAGRAM SET FOR 1 BILLION USERS

Published

Do you think Mark Zuckerberg wakes up every day and asks himself, ‘what shall I spend my $74 billion on today?’. (Yes, BILLION). Unlike you, who wakes up every morning and checks every social media account you have. You’ll soon be doing that on insta alongside 1 billion other users.

Back in 2012 Facebook bought Instagram for a mere $1 billion, hardly worth a penny when you’re Zuckerberg. At that moment, Instagram had 30 million users.

According to Mediakix growth projections, the social media that we all nose around and have a stalk of your best mate’s neighbour’s ex-girlfriend on is set to become Facebook’s fourth largest social media, following Facebook itself, WhatsApp and Messenger. By January 2018 Instagram is predicted to raise to 1 billion users. And there you are with your 3 dedicated followers, one of which is your mum.

Crepe City- a lifestyle, footwear and fashion festival that showcases street wear brands across Europe- hosted an Autumn 2017 festival in London this month. This festival is where you’ll find leading brands showcasing their fresh new kicks.

This month’s get together saw Yeezy Waver Runner 700 (picture 1) and the newly unreleased UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Max 97 (picture 2). At an eye-watering £5,000, the most expensive trainer at Crepe City was the Nike Dunk SB Low Staple Pigeon (picture 3). In fact, the most expensive shoes were Nike, the (not so) cheapest kicks were the Nike Air Max 1 “USA” at £650, still too expensive to put on your Christmas list.

Looks like you best get saving for next year’s Crepe City festival!
