ADIDAS IS NOW OFFICIALLY A PART OF THE METAVERSE

Adidas Originals has released its first NFT collection, confirming the company’s journey into the Metaverse.
In collaboration with Web3, Adidas has released its first NFT drop, which was created in collaboration with NFT pioneers Bored Ape Yacht Club, gmoney, and the team behind PUNKS comic. Beginning December 17, the Adidas NFTs titled Into the Metaverse will be available for purchase, with owners receiving exclusive access to various Adidas Originals experiences and products. Owners will be able to access virtual wearables for the blockchain-based gaming world, The Sandbox, with the NFTs acting as an access pass to in-virtual land experiences as well as free collaborative merchandise. A hoodie, tracksuit, and gmoney’s iconic orange beanie are among the physical products co-branded with the aforementioned trio of collaborators. adidas also purchased a Bored Ape NFT named Indigo Hertz to demonstrate their support for the Metaverse community.
Each of the NFTs is priced at 0.2 ETH, or approximately $800 USD. By entering the metaverse, Adidas and streetwear enthusiasts gain a new way to engage with their fanbase and offer exclusive drops. The NFTs will be available for purchase on Adidas beginning December 17th. Starting in 2022, digital and physical wearables will be available.

NIKE’S NEW RECYCLED COLLECTION

“Move to Zero” is Nike’s new trainer range consisting of their most sustainable shoes to date. Produced by eco-friendly materials, such as recycled cork from the wine industry or bark that’s produced in a way that isn’t harmful to the tree, each pair are 20% recycled materials.
The soles of the trainers are an outcome of the Plant Cork Pack, a process that infused the cork into the rubber sole. This product release marks Nike’s air to become ‘zero carbon and zero waste’.
The collection includes both new and updated trainer designs; you can purchase the beloved Air Force 1 or Blazer Mild and Air Max alongside a new silhouette, Nike Crate Impact. Their Air VaporMax 2021 is one of their ‘most sustainable shoes to date’ as it’s produced by over 50% recycled resources.

The capsule is inspired by ‘the natural world’ but it isn’t just the sole’s that are eco-friendly, ‘Each shoe is dedicated to a plant we love and brought to life through embroidered botanical designs, scientific infographics and dye sourced from the plant itself.’ Dohnn Ball, on the Plant Cork Pack team, revealed further the inspiration behind the trainer designs, saying, ‘On each shoe we are highlighting a plant, and whatever colour that plant is processed into is the accent colour on that shoe”.
