VISIONARY DESIGNER VIRGIL ABLOH SADLY PASSES AT AGE 41

Virgil Abloh, creator and CEO of Off-WhiteTM and menswear artistic director of Louis Vuitton (PARIS:MC.PA +1.24 percent), has died after a secret multi-year struggle with cancer.
The acclaimed fashion designer was recognised for changing the world of streetwear and luxury clothes, acting as the creator and CEO of his popular luxury label Off-WhiteTM, as well as the first Black fashion designer to oversee Louis Vuitton’s menswear brand. As a designer and creative director, Virgil Abloh aimed to merge the industries of current culture and luxury fashion with a focus on art history, youth culture, graphic design, music, and more.
On Sunday afternoon, LVMH and Abloh’s personal Instagram account issued messages confirming the designer’s death.

Abloh had been fighting a rare, severe form of cancer known as cardiac angiosarcoma for the previous two years.
“He opted to fight his battle quietly since his diagnosis in 2019, undertaking multiple difficult treatments while leading several key institutions spanning fashion, art, and culture,” according to the statement. “Through it all, his work ethic, insatiable curiosity, and optimism remained unwavering.” Virgil was motivated by his commitment to his profession and his aim to “open doors for others and establish avenues for greater equality in art and design.”
Abloh is remembered by Shannon, his wife, and their two children, Lowe and Grey.
Many of his colleagues have expressed their sympathies and shared their greatest recollections of the artist on social media. Abloh joined Louis Vuitton in the summer of 2018 and was diagnosed with “cardiac angiosarcoma,” a rare aggressive form of cancer, in 2019.

His influence on the fashion business is indisputable, covering numerous disciplines like as fashion, art, music, and culture. Virgil Abloh is remembered fondly by many in the fashion business, and an outpouring of condolences has flooded social media in the aftermath of his passing.

As the world continues to process the untimely passing of Virgil Abloh, Kanye West dedicated the latest instalment of his Sunday Service series to his close friend.
Shortly after an official announcement that Virgil had lost his private two-year battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare aggressive form of cancer, Ye brought the Sunday Service Choir together to honor the late cultural icon. Ye then shared a livestream to the moving performance dedicated to Virgil Abloh. Included in the somber medley was a take on Adele‘s “Easy On Me,” followed by a message that read, “IN LOVING MEMORY OF VIRGIL ABLOH, THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF DONDA.”
